- Learn a bilingual song, it can be English and Spanish or any language you choose.
- The characters discuss how the border can be difficult and hard, design a border that you think would be more comfortable for crossing, what did you add or take away, and why? Use your imagination!
- Play a game in which you have to work on a challenge together, but aren’t allowed to use words to work together. How will you communicate? Is it possible to work together without speaking the same language? What worked and what didn’t?
- Think about a place you regularly visit that isn’t home. Draw a picture and explain how it is the same and how it is different.
- Go to your local market, farmer’s market, or outdoor market and see if it looks anything like the market in this book.
